WHAT TO EXPECT

We want to welcome you to Elliott Sonar Chiropractic!

We understand that arriving at a doctor’s office for the first time can be intimidating. We make every effort to try to welcome you in a warm caring environment. We want to provide you with an experience that makes you feel confident in choosing us to help you feel great again. Our office environment has been described as warm and friendly, having a family feel. We hope you’ll feel this way too.

YOUR FIRST VISIT

Your first visit will take 60-90 minutes. If you have any test results from other sources pertaining to your current condition, please bring those with you.

When you first enter our office, you will be warmly greeted by one of our friendly staff members. If you have your new patient paperwork already filled out, you may turn it in at this time. Otherwise you will be invited to sit down while you complete the necessary forms.

You will then be introduced to the doctor, who will conduct a thorough assessment, including a consultation, health history, chiropractic exam, postural exam and x-rays.

YOUR SECOND VISIT

During this visit the doctor will deliver a report of findings, which is a thorough review of all your examination and x-ray results. Once all of your questions have been answered to your satisfaction, you will receive your first very gentle correction with the Sonar instrument. Upon completion of the correction, many of the initial exams will be repeated to verify the effectiveness of the correction.

Afterwards, you will do a micro-current modality and therapeutic exercises to promote healing, decrease pain and swelling, and to try to improve function.

REGULAR VISITS

Subsequent visits will take less of your time. We will run a non-invasive exam to determine if you are holding your spinal correction. If not, a follow-up correction is performed. Our goal is to retrain your body to hold you in a gravitationally stable position so you are more likely to hold your corrections.

Once we’ve been successful in achieving the healthcare goals and spinal stability, many of our patients opt to receive ongoing chiropractic corrections. These visits are usually referred to as preventive or wellness care and you will generally come in either monthly or every three months. Wellness care is your choice, but we do encourage our patients to come in as long as they want to continue to experience the benefits of optimal health and wellness.
